Reported Escape Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys Foiled

On 01-11-2010 at 7:20 PM Officers of the Marianna Police Department responded to a report of a possible escape
of two juvenile inmates from the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys.  As officers from the Marianna Police Department
began to set up an exterior perimeter around the institution it was confirmed at 7:32 PM by head count that two
juvenile inmates were missing from their housing unit.  Units from the Jackson County Sheriffs Office, Florida
Highway Patrol arrived to assist in the search and tighten the perimeter.  K9 tracking units arrived shortly thereafter
from both the Jackson County Correctional Institute and the Apalachee Correctional Institute to begin running tracks
on the suspected escapees.  It was soon determined that the escapees had not breached the perimeter fence, but
were concealed somewhere inside the institutional grounds.  The second K9 unit began running a track inside the
institution grounds.  At 11:43 PM the juveniles where located on institutional grounds hiding inside a fenced
maintenance area.  The juveniles where returned to their housing units.
