MORE ON "TO TRAIN UP A CHILD"
7-year-old Lydia Schatz died after being beaten severely over the course of
multiple days by her adoptive parents, encouraged in a book by Michael Pearl
called To Train up a Child. Hanna William's mother had praised the Pearls’ book.
Hana had been beaten the day of her death with the 15-inch plastic tube
recommended by Mr. Pearl. In the case of Sean Paddock, discipline that a
Johnston County woman allegedly imposed on her children amounted to
ritualistic and sadistic abuse and torture, a forensic pediatrician testified.
