Lenox Edward Williams

Lenox Edward Williams, 78, passed away on July 26, 2010 at his home in Marianna Florida. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Doris Hickman Williams, his mother, Elizabeth Davis, father, Leroy Williams, a grandchild Heather
Gilmore, and a brother Walter Williams He is survived by his children, Vic Williams and wife Joyce, Donna W. Baxter
and husband Larry, Darryl Williams and wife Michelle, and Gina Bass. He is also survived by grandchildren Christy
Lawson, Amanda Epley, Ray Lawson, Brit Williams, Ashton Williams, Dylan Bass, Buddy Baxter, Ethan Bass Kimball
Bass and great grandchild, Jace Epley. Lenox is also survived by his dear friend Carloyn Richardson.

Lenox was born in White City, Alabama February 9, 1932. He graduated from Auburn High School, received a
bachelor’s degree in education from Auburn University and received his masters in psychology from Auburn.
Lenox began his career in Marianna in 1960 when he was hired as a psychologist at Florida School for Boys,
advanced to Superintendent and continues to be the longest serving superintendent in the history of Dozier School
for Boys. He retired from his employment in 1987 while serving as a sub-district administrator for HRS.
Lenox was actively involved with Marianna High School Quarterback Club for the past four decades. He served in
the USAF during the Korean Conflict.

The family received visitors at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral
services took place at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Luther
Pumphrey officiating.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
